Palm Beach is Florida’s most interesting ghost town.  It is now Florida’s premier ghost city. The City is unique in having commuter or snowbird ghosts who prefer to escape the cold winter up north and when spring comes to the USA, birds migrate back up north to resume their haunting.

Once the glittering jewel in the crown of the East Coast’s social set, Palm Beach retains some of its mystique from the early part of the twentieth century. In some cases, the party, it seems, is destined to go on forever, as spectral revelers mingle at an eternal soiree. : Lots of people came to South Florida to get well from the ailments of the day. Of course, they didn’t all benefit from our warmth and sunshine and have stayed on as ghosts.

A characteristic of Palm Beach ghosts is that they are seasonal.  They do their haunting up north in the summer and come south to Palm Beach for sun and fun. Even ghosts like to take a holiday. Some of the transient, snowbird or seasonal ghosts are the banker J. P. Morgan, the musician John Lennon, and President William Howard Taft.

The Palm Beach ghosts are like its people valuing discretion and privacy over publicity. In NYC and the Los Angeles, the jet set craves publicity. Here the Palm Beach well-to-do and the celebrated, whether in life or in the astral plane, value their privacy.  When questioned about some of the supernatural happenings, one Palm Beacher replied, “What happened in Palm Beach stays in Palm Beach.
